RoadSoft 6.8.6 Update

Description

The RoadSoft 6.8.6 update is now available. If you already have RoadSoft 6.8 or newer, you can download the update below or via Tools/Check for Updates in RoadSoft

This update includes:

Migration to Framework version 7a
Changes to support TAMC Investment Reporting requirements
LDC Guardrail data collection
Updated Bridge and Crash Data (thru 2007)
Route Builder to create a route in order to update any road data, including the ability to save a project.
Project Builder to create a Project consisting of a network of roads.

This update is for users with RoadSoft version 6.5 or newer. This is a cumulative release for RoadSoft and includes all updates from 6.5.0 through 6.8.6.

This update is compatible with LDC version 6.8.6 or later. The LDC patch is available here

Please Note, if you are running version 6.7 or earlier, this update is only available on CD. Users running RoadSoft versions 6.7 or earlier will need to request a CD containing Basemap Framework data for migration. The CD also includes updated Bridge, Crash, and Basemap data.

To request a RoadSoft CD including this update, send an e-mail to roadsoft@mtu.edu. If your agency has never used RoadSoft, you must fax a request on your agency letterhead to 906-487-3409.

For users already running version 6.8 or later, an update is available below.

The 6.8 6 update includes:

Added ability to customize lookup tables for Road, Culvert, Driveway, Guardrail, and Sign modules.
Added dialog box to Roadsoft Import to allow user to choose which data type(s) (Road, Culvert, Sign, etc.) in an export will be imported.
Added the ability to save a project for a selected network of roads (Project Builder).
Added the ability to create a route in order to update any road data, including the ability to save a project (Route Builder).
Added TAMC Surface Condition Trend Chart to Asset Management->Pavement Management menu.

The 6.8 5 update includes:

Added Group By option to the [RSM]Last Rating Entered Report.
Fixed bug to not run optimization when budget amounts are left zero and Use is set to yes
Fixed bug when printing strategy reports with long names
Fixed bug in LDC import that cut UserCulvertNo to only 10 characters
Fixed bug in MapInfo which would not show info for external shape layers.
Fixed bug in MapInfo which would not show info for external shape layers.

The 6.8 4 update includes:

Added Right of Way field to Road and Crash filters
Added Right of Way field to Road Legends
Added Crash Summary printed report for intersections
DRIVEWAY MODULE: Add None as a culvert type in the driveway module
CRASH MODULE: Made Vehicle Direction fields editable

The 6.8 3 update includes:

Added the ability to automatically load external files when loading a saved view.
Added AADT to Road Legends (range).
Fixed Sign report exports: export would be broken because of sign images.

The 6.8.2 update includes:

Changes to support TAMC data collection process
SAFETY ANALYSIS: Added Curve Ranking Analysis
CRASH MODULE: Added function to download/view UD-10 images (for 2004-2006 crashes only).

The 6.8.1 update includes:

Fixed bug exporting to LDC when database contained saved Guardrail network
Fixed bug migrating Linear PMarks

Users of RoadSoft 6.8 or newer can download the update below. This update is also available via Check for Updates in RoadSoft.

This update includes fixes, updates, and enhancements including:

LDC 6.8.6 Update

Description

LDC 6.8.6 Update is now available.

This update is for users with LDC version 6.0 or newer. This is a cumulative release for the Laptop Data Collector (LDC) and will bring the LDC up to version 6.8. This version is only compatible with RoadSoft version 6.8.0 or later. Information about the RoadSoft update is available here

LDC 6.8 Update: It is very important that any data that you wish to keep is imported into RoadSoft before these patches are applied. Applying this patch will delete any existing data prior to 6.8 that is on your LDC.

This update is compatible with RoadSoft 6.8.6 or later. If you have a version prior to RoadSoft 6.8.6, any existing data in LDC must be imported into RoadSoft before you apply this update. RoadSoft 6.8.6 or later is not compatible with any previous version of the LDC.

6.8.6 update includes:

Added support for custom Lookup values for Road, Culvert, Driveway, Guardrail, and Signs.

6.8.2 update includes:

Fixed bug when adding new culvert or support.

6.8.1 update includes:

Fixed bug in loading framework files from CD which would not automatically find the RoadSoft CD.

6.8 update includes:

Guardrail data collection
Update to Framework 7

RoadSoft SQL Express Database Server

Description

The Microsoft SQL Express Server engine is required to run RoadSoft in Stand-Alone mode. This install is not required if you plan to connect the RoadSoft Client to an existing server.

Please Note: This install requires that Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 and Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework be installed

The latest version of the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework can be found at microsoft.com. Do not download and install this file unless the RoadSoft SQL Express Database Server installer tells you that you need it.

2006 Michigan Crash Data

2006 Michigan Crash data is available for RoadSoft. This data is only available on a CD. If you are a current RoadSoft user you can request a CD. Please send an email to roadsoft@mtu.edu or call (906) 487-2102 to make the request.

If you are new to RoadSoft and are public agency in Michigan:

Send a letter or fax, on agency letterhead, signed by a person in authority, to the Technology Development Group (906) 487-3409

·         Fax should include:
·         Name of person requesting RoadSoft
·         Address
·         Phone Number
·         Statement requesting RoadSoft and the jurisdiction needed, such as: County, City, Village, etc.
·         e-mail address (necessary for notification of version updates)

RoadSoft-GIS version 6.5 is now available

RoadSoft-GIS version 6.5 is now available.

This update includes an update to the Framework basemap, going from version 5a to version 6a. For existing users of RoadSoft-GIS 6.x that have collected their own data (road inventory, surface condition, traffic counts, guardrail, sign, and/or culvert), RoadSoft-GIS 6.5 will automatically migrate your data to the new version of the Framework basemap.

PLEASE NOTE: This update is *NOT* available via the Update Wizard. You must request a CD containing the RoadSoft update with your jurisdiction's Framework basemap.

If your jurisdiction already uses RoadSoft or send a request to roadsoft@mtu.edu to request your CD.

If your jurisdiction has never used RoadSoft, you can request a CD by faxing a request on your jurisdiction's letterhead to 906-487-3409.

If you have already requested the latest version, your CD should be on it's way to you today.
